Parent drivers breaking the law

Young persons car insurance

Passing the driving test and gaining a full licence is an exciting time for many young people as they are given freedom to drive their motors wherever they like without an accompanying adult. This gives many young motorists an added sense of freedom and responsibility.

Once the driving text has been passed young drivers need a car that has a valid MOT and all the extras such as car insurance and tax. The cost of getting a young driver ready for the road can soon add up and it is often the youngsters' parents who take care of all the costs. With so much to pay for it is understandable that parents try to find as many ways as possible to reduce the cost of getting their child on the road. The most common way this is often done is by twisting the truth when setting up car insurance for the young person. A method known as "fronting" where by the parent claims that he or she is the main user of the car and puts the child down as a named driver can help save a lot of money but is actually illegal. Such an act is actually classed as fraud and can have serious consequences for the child and parent should the situation be found out. With most providers now providing car insurance online telling such a lie to save money is even more tempting than ever but this is not recommended.

Should drivers be caught "fronting" the insurance will be invalidated immediately and both parent and child could face an unpleasant trip to court!

  2. If this is just for fun make it sure that you are in your place or home. But don't ever do this when you are on your way to your office or supermarket
